Moira offers emotional gesture in Emmerdale amid tragic d.e.a.t.h mystery
Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) was on hand to support Cain (Jeff Hordley) in the wake of a decision about his m.u.r.d.e.r.e.d son in Emmerdale.
Ever since the investigation into Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) d.e.a.t.h began, Cain has been at loggerheads with Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh), Nate’s partner.
Very early on, Tracy decided that Cain k.i.l.l.e.d his son, and hasn’t let go of this theory. Shortly before Nate d.i.e.d, Cain attacked him to the point Tracy feared he would k.i.l.l him.
As a result, it has left her convinced that Cain did go too far and is now covering up the fact Nate is d.e.a.d because of him.
From Cain’s perspective, Tracy pushing this narrative has left him certain that she’s only doing it for deflection, and that she actually k.i.l.l.e.d Nate.
They’re both wrong, of course, as we know John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) is the culprit.
But while this secret remains hidden, Tracy and Cain are continuing to clash. A couple of weeks ago, Tracy revealed that Cain wouldn’t be allowed at Nate’s funeral, and this development broke his heart.
Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) tried to get Tracy to change her mind, but the situation was made worse, resulting in Tracy banning the entire Dingle family.
It was Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) who helped Cain view the upcoming event from a different view, as the two characters chatted while Sarah recovered in hospital.
As conversation turned to Nate’s funeral, Sarah argued that Cain didn’t need to stand around his coffin with a vicar beside him to say goodbye – he could do it another way.
Sarah said that Cain can say goodbye to Nate however he wants. It was this conversation and Sarah’s perspective on d.e.a.t.h that made Cain see things differently, and he concluded that his granddaughter was making a very good point.
Cain spoke about this with Moira in the pub a while later. He certainly had warmed to the idea, but felt that they needed to do something more, rather than just spend one day reflecting on Nate’s life.
Moira proposed the idea of dedicating a corner of a field on Butlers Farm to Nate.
They would grow things there, and it would also be somewhere for Frankie and the rest of Nate’s family to come and remember him.
