Emmerdale favourite sacked and prepares to leave for good
An Emmerdale resident lost everything in tonight’s episode when they came clean about their misdeeds.
Wendy Posner’s (Susan Cookson) life has been unravelling since she spoke to a journalist, who had intel on her dodgy past.
Viewers will know that Wendy used her married name to qualify as a nurse so that she didn’t have to declare her criminal convictions, which could have stopped her getting a job.
The journalist had managed to uncover this, but promised to keep quiet in exchange for salacious stories about other villagers.
In a bid to save her livelihood, Wendy told her all about Rhona Goskirk’s (Zoe Henry) k.i.d.n.a.p.p.i.n.g of baby Ivy, as well as Ella Forster’s (Paula Lane) killer childhood.
Ella was understandably heartbroken to have her past dragged up again, which prompted Wendy to come clean to Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
With the surgery at risk, the pair let Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) in on the secret, and it’s safe to say that she was far from impressed.
She berated Wendy for her reckless decisions, and was equally horrified to realise that Liam already knew about her fraud.
In a bid to quash the the trouble, Liam realised he had no choice but to sack Wendy, which she understood.
Having come clean to her colleagues, she headed to the B&B where she revealed all to Ella, who was understandably devastated.
As she faced the wrath of Ella, Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) and Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw), Wendy made a decision about her future.
With Bob having pointed out that her actions were ‘unforgivable’, Wendy told Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) that son Luke had offered her his spare room.
Though Victoria argued that they could find a way to make things up to Ella and Rhona, Wendy was adamant that she was leaving the village ‘for good’.
Will Victoria convince her to stay a while longer, or are we set to see the last of Wendy?
