Joe Tate makes utterly bizarre announcement in Emmerdale

When Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) organises a family lunch in Emmerdale, you know something is up.
This is the view Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) had when he made the announcement in today’s episode, and she had a perfectly good reason to feel worried.
Yesterday, Dawn’s ex Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) tried to kiss her. They were enjoying a sweet moment together reminiscing about their relationship, but Billy misread the situation and moved in for a kiss.
Dawn stopped Billy and, seconds later, Joe appeared behind them.
Neither of them knew how much Joe saw, but Dawn and Billy began to fear that he had seen everything when he decided they needed to go to lunch.
Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) also sensed that something was going on with his protégé, because Joe doesn’t organise family gatherings just for vibes.
At The Hide, an apprehensive Billy and Dawn sat down with Graham, Kim Tate (Claire King), Joe and Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham). At the head of the table, Joe began speaking about Billy and said that they’ve had their differences in the past, but he’s come to respect him.
Things were already weird. But they got weirder.
Joe asked Billy if he’d like to be one of his groomsmen at his and Dawn’s wedding.
He was in shock, but Billy also didn’t really have any choice but to say yes.
In a quiet moment to themselves a while later, Billy and Dawn concluded that if Joe knew about what happened yesterday, he would’ve told everyone about it by now.
But are they right?
The release of an Emmerdale trailer has confirmed that Billy’s life will be in danger soon, suggesting that Joe might just be waiting for the right moment to get revenge.
Joe also has knowledge that Billy is helping Caleb Miligan (William Ash) and Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) flog counterfeit goods at the depot.
If he spotted the moment between Billy and Dawn, Joe has two pieces of powerful information that could destroy his enemy for good.
