Doctor Todd exposes Charity’s baby secret in Emmerdale – but there’s a twist

Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) is taking great pleasure in making Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) life a living hell in Emmerdale.
Her attention has shifted from targeting Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) to Charity because she knows about baby Leyla’s true parentage and wants to take advantage.
The surgeon discovered Charity’s lie about Leyla shortly after the birth.
At first, Caitlin blackmailed Charity and told her to get Jacob to drop the complaint against her, or she’d reveal the secret. Charity did this, but discovered in today’s episode that Doctor Todd has absolutely no intention of keeping quiet just yet.
Caitlin recently learnt that she’s inherited her late father’s house, but needs a fair bit of money to do it up. Due to the fact she’s taken early retirement, Doctor Todd doesn’t have a great deal of cash to her name, but quickly realised that wouldn’t be an issue for very long.
She began her plan by putting Charity on edge and asking how much her ‘sordid little secret’ is actually worth. Attention then turned to the darts match in the pub, which was also a perfect chance for Caitlin to annoy Charity even further by kissing Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick).
As they left, Doctor Todd and Vanessa bumped into Charity, Ross Barton (Michael Parr) and young Moses. Caitlin couldn’t resist making a comment to Moses, and said that he must be very proud of his ‘new sister’.
Ross quickly jumped in and corrected her, but Charity knew exactly what Doctor Todd was doing. She covered by claiming that it’s hard to know ‘who belongs to who’ with big families, and tried to hide her smirk as she told Charity that she doesn’t look old enough to be a Great Grandmother.
The nightmare continued for Charity as she headed to Tug Ghyll to try and confront Caitlin. The problem is though, Charity has no idea that Doctor Todd is a woman who will hurt whoever she wants in her quest to get whatever she wants. A few harsh words from Charity wasn’t going to scare Doctor Todd.
In fact, it just made things even worse.
Doctor Todd told Charity that she wants £10,000 by tomorrow, or she will blow Jacob and Sarah’s world apart. Charity doesn’t have that kind of money in her bank account, but she will very quickly realise that there is a way to get the cash in the timeframe.
