Vanessa and Mack unite to take down Dr Todd for Charity in Emmerdale – and make a discovery
Unexpected crime-fighting duo Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) team up to bring abuser, blackmailer, and rapist Doctor Caroline Todd (Caroline Harker) down in Emmerdale.
Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) finally learns the whole horrifying truth about Todd – having defended her for months while not knowing any of the truth, Vanessa discovers the real Todd when DS Reid comes to town to ask questions. Vanessa is on her list of interviewees, and she lays out the allegations against Todd.
Vanessa’s jaw hits the floor full force when she realises she tried to bed such an evil woman without suspecting a thing. Now it all makes sense as to why Charity was trying to turn her off the venomous quack.
The whole time that Vanessa has been unaware, Charity has been secretly pursuing a police investigation against Todd. Mack has been by her side, despite the fact he now knows the full extent of Charity’s lies – having slept with Ross (Michael Parr) and had a baby with him, before being blackmailed by Todd.
Vanessa now knows most of it, and she intends to do something about it to ease her own guilt.
It’s bad news for Charity when she learns the CPS won’t take the case forwards due to lack of evidence. A huge blow for her when she’s been struggling so badly.
Mack and Vanessa vow not to let slimy Todd get away with this, and they begin to plough their angry energy into a new plot. Maybe they can uncover complaints about this nasty woman. They know there are more from Jacob’s experience with HR when he tried to report Todd for bullying.
They approach the HR Rep Carol to see what she can give them, and she has something that might just push their investigation along.
