Serena’s major secret ‘exposed’ by surprise Emmerdale villager

Serena Sugden actress Casey Al-Shaqsy may have ruled out a major Emmerdale fan theory by clearing up exactly how she is related to Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), but the character is still shrouded in mystery.
Robert’s distant cousin arrived in the village last month, after finding Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) beside a lake, struggling under the weight of her secrets about Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) and baby Leyla.
Serena was kind to Charity and helped her see that telling the police about Caitlin blackmailing her was the right thing to do. As they parted ways, Serena got in her car, and brought up the directions to Emmerdale on her phone.
The newcomer has now reconnected with Robert and Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), and is also enjoying getting to know other residents of the Dales.
However, it seems that one villager may know her better than the others.

Outside the pub last week, Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) recognised Serena, but couldn’t place her. She denied knowing him and dashed inside. However, Kev refused to let his suspicions slide.
Later, during a visit to the Woolpack, Kev told Serena that he’d worked out where he knew her from, insisting that she had been a ‘screw’. That’s a prison guard or officer to you and me.
Serena denied Kev’s claims, but also said that she’d appreciate it if they didn’t have the conversation anymore.
Unfortunately, with Serena having now accepted Robert’s offer to permanently move into Emmerdale farm, it’s unlikely that she’ll be able to avoid Kev for long.

The problem is, Kev has form for lying to everyone. When he first arrived in the village, it was revealed that he had been telling a massive lie to Robert about his health.
But what reason exactly could he have for making this story up about Serena?
Is he telling the truth? Or maybe they know each other a different way?
