Sad ‘reason’ Prince William might be ‘jealous’ of brother Harry and Meghan Markle’s freedom
Prince William may feel a quiet pang of envy towards his younger brother, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, and it all comes down to privacy, according to a TV presenter.
Speaking on Tim Lihoreau’s Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner? podcast, British TV star Fern Britton suggested that while Prince William’s life is under constant public scrutiny, Harry and Meghan now have the luxury of controlling how much the public sees.

“He might be jealous that Harry and Meghan and their two children can have the privacy that he can’t give his own kids,” Fern suggested, as reported by Express. “[They can say], ‘No, you only see a little bit of our children. You don’t see the rest.’”
The Sussexes’ ability to control their public exposure, she argued, is something William simply cannot replicate.
Every photograph, school appearance, or family outing involving the Wales children is usually shown in the press. This makes privacy a rare luxury in their world.
Meanwhile, Lihoreau’s podcast invites guests to share their dream dinner party guest list. Fern revealed that her ideal table would seat Meghan Markle, Princess Kate, Queen Camilla, and the late Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II.

While praising each woman in different ways, Fern reflected on Camilla’s transformation from a controversial figure to a key royal player.
Fern noted that Camilla “really did step up” after King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, shouldering much of the public engagement workload during his treatment.
Fern also contrasted Camilla’s laid-back style with the late queen’s reported strict adherence to protocol.
She said: “The old queen stood by everything she’d learned as a child, and she kept that routine of behaviour. Queen Camilla, on the other hand, has had a proper life, a real life, and quite an exciting and at times controversial time. She’s much more easygoing and informal.”
Princess Diana would be ‘furious’ with Harry
Meanwhile, Fern’s admiration for Princess Diana was clear. She also suggested Diana might have been “furious” with her son, Prince Harry, and daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, for walking away from royal life.
However, Fern is also convinced that Meghan would have been affectionate towards her. She said: “I think she’d go in and give Diana a huge hug and a kiss straight away.”
In other royal news, Prince William may also be poised to make a tough call.
Despite having a close relationship with his cousin Princess Beatrice, insiders believe she is unlikely to be given a senior working royal role when William eventually becomes king.
Former royal butler Grant Harrold told The Mirror that although Beatrice is “a valued member of the family” and steps up when needed, her independent career makes it improbable she would take on a full-time role.
“Beatrice has her own career. I don’t see William making her a senior member of the working royals,” Grant explained. “They pull ranks when they need the support, and she’s been known to step up. But she has a job and does her own thing.”
