Princess Kate’s baby comments

Kate’s comments were made before she welcomed her third child, Prince Louis, and definitely hinted at the couple expanding their family.

The future queen made the comment back in 2017. She did so whilst she and William were on their official tour to Poland and Germany.

At the time, Kate was offered a cuddly toy made by a tech company based in Warsaw. Its purpose was to soothe newborns.

A wowed Kate marvelled at the toy. It was here she turned to make a quip to William about having more children.

She said: We’ll just have to keep having more babies!”

Prince William’s surprised reaction

In response, William looked pretty surprised. Although, his expression was undoubtedly warm.

The sweet moment was definitely a hint that the couple had plans to grow their family.

Less than two months later, Kensington Palace announced that Kate was pregnant with their third child.

They welcomed Prince Louis the following April.

It isn’t known whether Kate knew she was expecting at the time or whether her words were an unbelievable prophecy, but either way, the footage was definitely an adorable moment caught on camera.

Princess Kate and Prince William ‘urged’ not to have more children

Shortly after the clip was shared seven years ago, however, the couple were urged to not have more children.

Children’s organisation Having Kids, promoters of a “sustainable and child-centred family planning model,” asked the couple to reconsider.

In an open letter, Executive Director President Anne Green Carter Dillard wrote that “the example the British Royal Family sets is extremely influential,” explaining: “Your discussion of having a larger family raises compelling issues of sustainability and equity.

“Large families are not sustainable.”

She added that although the royal children are “certain to have wonderful lives… the same can’t be said of every future child”.

Princess Kate on having a fourth child

In 2022, Kate addressed welcoming a fourth child.

On a trip to Northern Ireland that year, someone called out to Kate: “Number four?”

She replied: “I think William would be a little worried!”

The Prince and Princess of Wales are said to be spending an increased amount of quality time with their trio of children during the school holidays.

Kate’s approach to parenting

Kate has previously implied the influence of having such involved parents and how it has impacted her parenting, describing her parents, Carole and Michael, as “dedicated,” whilst bringing up herself and her siblings, Pippa and James.

Danielle Stacey, a Royal Correspondent at Hello, told the publication:”This stems a lot from the princess’s side of the family, as well as the values that Charles and Diana instilled in their sons.”

“The princess also stayed in Windsor when the prince travelled to Singapore in 2023 so she could be at home to support Prince George through his first major set of exams,” noted Danielle, proving that the royal couple are keen to be a constant presence in their children’s lives.
