Tragic Shock: Rosie Roche, 20-Year-Old Cousin of Prince William and Harry, Found D.e.a.d at Family Home

Acousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, Rosie Roche, has been found dead at the age of 20 at her family home.

Rosie was the granddaughter of Princess Diana’s uncle.

She was tragically found dead at her home in Norton, Wiltshire, by her mother and sister on July 14. A firearm was reportedly found near her body.

According to reports, Durham University student Rosie was packing to go away with friends before she was found dead.

An inquest has been opened into her death, being adjourned until October 25.

Coroner Grant Davies has said that police have “deemed the death as non-suspicious and there was no third-party involvement”.

A spokesperson for Rosie’s family said that she will be “sorely missed”.

An obituary published by the Yorkshire Post read: “Roche, Rosie Jeanne Burke. Died on Monday 14th July 2025.

“Darling daughter of Hugh and Pippa, incredible sister to Archie and Agatha, Granddaughter to Derek and Rae Long.

“Private family funeral. A memorial service will be held at a later date.”

Rosie was the granddaughter of the late Edmund Roche 5th Baron Fermoy, Princess Diana’s maternal uncle. He died in 1984, aged 45.

Rosie was born in June 2005.

According to reports, Rosie was studying English Literature at Durham University at the time of her death.

Royal Insider has contacted reps for William and Harry for comment.

It comes after last year, William and Harry mourned another relative. Their mother’s brother-in-law Lord Robert Fellowes died in July 2024.

He was Princess Diana’s brother-in-law, and private secretary to Queen Elizabeth II from 1990 to 1999.

In August 2024, William and Harry attended a memorial service for their uncle, close to the royal Sandringham Estate.

However, according to reports, the brothers kept their distance amid their ongoing rift.

The brothers have reportedly not been on speaking terms for some years now.

In May, Harry expressed a desire to reconcile with his family. Harry became estranged from his family after stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

In the years that followed, Harry and wife Meghan Markle spoke out about their experience within the monarchy in explosive interviews and book deals.

But with his father King Charles undergoing treatment for cancer, Harry has admitted that “life is precious” and wants to reconcile.

He told the BBC: “I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
