BREAKING: Niece of Prince William and Prince Harry has passed away

The family of Prince William and Prince Harry has just received heartbreaking news. According to several British media outlets, their second cousin, Rosie Roche, passed away earlier this month. She was found dead at her parents’ home, with a gun nearby.

An obituary in the Yorkshire Post revealed that Rosie d.i.e.d on July 14. British newspaper The Sun reported that police found no evidence of foul play and no third party was involved. The date of the memorial service has yet to be determined. It is also unclear whether William and Harry will attend.

Rosie was in her twenties and still attending university. She was the niece of Princess Diana’s brother, and therefore William and Harry’s second cousin.

Princess Diana, the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry, died in a tragic car crash in Paris in 1997 while being chased by paparazzi. Her death shocked both the British royal family and the public. In 2005, her ex-husband, then Prince Charles, remarried Camilla, with whom he had a long-standing relationship during his marriage to Diana.

Last year, the British royal family also endured another devastating loss. Thomas Kingston, husband of Lady Gabriella Windsor, was found dead in March with a gunshot wound to the head. Lady Gabriella is the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II. This death, too, showed no signs of foul play. The family was in shock. At the time, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles and Queen Camilla were mourning “a much-loved member of the family,” and Gabriella requested privacy as she coped with her grief.

This is a sorrowful time for the British royal family.
