King Charles to be supported by three senior royals at event as Queen Camilla absent

King Charles will be joined by three key members of the royal family next week as he hosts a prestigious business event at Windsor Castle, without Queen Camilla by his side.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the monarch will be supported by Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh during a reception for recipients of The King’s Award for Enterprise on June 12.

The event will bring together 197 award-winning British businesses recognised for excellence in innovation, international trade, sustainable development, and social mobility.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester will also be attending.

Now in its 59th year, and its third under the title “The King’s Awards”, the honours remain the UK’s most prestigious business accolade. It was first established by Royal Warrant in 1965.

The event will offer the king an opportunity to personally meet and congratulate standout enterprises from across the UK. Many are pioneers in their fields.

One recipient, Jellycat Limited, was awarded for its globally successful, design-led soft toys and gifts.

Another, Deluxe Art & Theme Ltd, received recognition for immersive interior fit-outs. Their work can be seen at attractions like Jurassic World, Disneyland Paris, and Universal Orlando’s new Harry Potter park.

Also honoured is Level Peaks Associates Ltd, a top supplier of defence and security solutions.

Meanwhile, Camp de Rêves Glamping Ltd’s eco-conscious luxury offerings have earned them the title of being the first company from Guernsey to win a King’s Award.

Recipients will now be entitled to display The King’s Awards Emblem on packaging, websites, and promotional material for five years.

With Queen Camilla absent, the presence of Anne, Sophie and Edward at the reception reflects a continued emphasis on shared royal duty.

Senior family members have rallied around the king amid his ongoing return to public engagements following his cancer diagnosis last year.

King Charles and Prince Harry reconciliation latest

Meanwhile, in other King Charles news, royal insiders say a reconciliation with Prince Harry remains unlikely, largely due to Prince William’s firm opposition.

Following Harry’s recent BBC interview, where he expressed hope for healing, commentators suggest the king remains torn.

“He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff. It would be nice to reconcile. I don’t know how much longer my father has. Life is precious,” Harry admitted.

But royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News that Charles “can’t risk communication” with Harry and won’t “go against” William. William has reportedly “shut the door” on his brother for good.

“Charles is not willing to go against his heir’s wishes,” she said.

Despite Charles’ reported tenderness toward Harry, insiders claim the king won’t jeopardise William’s future reign by making peace now.

Sources say that the rift is rooted in a deep “lack of trust”. But with no encouragement from those close to the monarch, reconciliation remains a distant hope.
