Windsor Castle arrest
Officers said a man was detained on suspicion of trespass on a protected site and possession of Class A drugs. He’s since been bailed.
The security scare comes near where the Prince and Princess of Wales live with their three children. The family reside at Adelaide Cottage – located in Windsor Home Park, east of Windsor Castle. However, it’s unclear if the family were home when the incident happened.
Officers in the grounds spotted the man just after 13:00hrs on Sunday, 1 June and quickly arrested him.
Speaking to The Sun, a source claimed: “The intruder is believed to have been under the influence of drugs at the time of the break-in.
“He broke into the castle near Town Gate and was quickly detained by police. It was a crazy thing to do and caused quite a stir but at this stage it appears there was no intent to cause any serious harm.”

Meanwhile, a statement from a Met Police spokesperson said: “A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of trespass on a protected site and possession of Class A drugs after entering restricted grounds at Windsor Castle.
“Officers in the grounds spotted the man just after 13:00hrs on Sunday, 1 June and quickly arrested him.
“He was then passed into the custody of Thames Valley Police.”
In addition, a Thames Valley Police – the local force who cover the area outside the castle’s perimeter – spokesperson added: “At just after 1pm on Sunday 1 June a man entered restricted grounds at Windsor castle.”
The statement explained Met Police officers “quickly challenged” the man before making an arrest. The statement also stated the man did not “enter the inner grounds of Windsor Castle”.
The Prince and Princess of Wales moved to Windsor in the summer of 2022. They previously lived at Kensington Palace with their three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.
