Prince William reveals son Louis’ dilemma in new appearance as young royal left torn

Prince William has revealed a difficult decision Prince Louis will need to take in the future… and the outcome might cause an issue with his brother and dad.

The Prince of Wales made an appearance in Edinburgh yesterday (Wednesday May 21), visiting non-profit organisation Street Soccer Scotland.

The heir to the throne is patron of the English Football Association, and he popped in to Leith Community Centre to find out more about how football is helping tackle some of society’s toughest challenges.

He learned how Leith United, a new social enterprise launched with support from The Royal Foundation’s Community Impact Programme, is assisting those facing homelessness and addiction through football sessions.

The scheme is set up to support and deliver health, wellbeing and opportunities for social connection for thousands of residents from the local hub.

Furthermore, Prince William also chatted with local people – and even demonstrated his own football skills.

“That’s it, I’m done now!” he chuckled as he was cheered after slamming in an unstoppable penalty.

Prince William was also introduced to Erin, nine, and Shaniah, 10, who held a Youth Forum at Edinburgh City Council Chambers to discuss their concerns about the block of flats where they live.

An impressed Prince William congratulated them on speaking in public. He told them: “Wow, it’s not easy standing up and speaking. It takes a lot of courage. Well done.”

And when Erin presented a poster of the football team the prince personally supports to him, she was asked about who she likes. As it turns out, Erin supports two different football teams – and she has something in common with Prince William’s youngest child.

Do Prince Louis and Prince George like football?

That’s because Prince Louis is also torn about which football team to support.

Prince William explained: “My youngest at the moment says he supports five different football teams.”

Prince Louis’ brother Prince George, however, backs the same team as their dad: Aston Villa.

The royal father and his eldest son have been spotted attending matches together on several occasions. Furthermore, Prince George has even been snapped wearing a Villa scarf as he cheers on the players.

But will Prince Louis be joining them at Villa Park in Birmingham in future seasons? Or could his choice cause some friction?

Is Prince William an Aston Villa fan?

Back in 2015, Prince William explained why he decided on supporting Aston Villa, even though he doesn’t hail from the Midlands.

He told the BBC: “A long time ago at school I got into football big time. I was looking around for clubs. All my friends at school were either Man United fans or Chelsea fans. And I didn’t want to follow the run-of-the-mill teams.

Additionally, Prince William continued: “I wanted to have a team that was more mid-table that could give me more emotional rollercoaster moments.”

However, with Aston Villa finishing sixth in the Premier League, they could qualify for European competition in the Champions League. So Prince Louis might want to consider a team lower down the table if he follows his dad’s logic!
