‘Teen Mom’ Bar Smith Released From Jail, Details
Former Teen Mom star, Bar Smith has been released from jail after only serving eight months. He was behind bars for kidnapping his wife, Ashley Jones. Now, he has been freed on special circumstances but what are they? Keep reading for further details.
Bar Smith Released From Jail After Kidnapping Wife
For some time, Teen Mom stars, Bar Smith and Ashley Jones had been struggling in their marriage. She accused him of cheating and made it a public situation. Ashley took to social media to share what was going on and it appeared their relationship was officially over. She even prepared their daughter, Holly that it would just be ladies in the home from here on out. Unfortunately, things between the couple got even worse when he came to her apartment and would not leave. Allegedly, she had a new man and he demanded to be taken to him.
Before she even got to her apartment, Ashley felt Bar might be there so she phoned her mother, Tasheilia. She noted that if Bar was there, the police needed to be called which they were. When they got to her home, Bar blockaded the door and allegedly said:
“If you’re not leaving with me, you’re not leaving, period.”
He was arrested but has a history of violence and shooting off a gun at Ashley’s college graduation party. The Teen Mom star served his time at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas. However, when he was released, he was picked up again in California as he was deemed a fugitive. There were gun charges still from Ashley’s party and that he had to tend to. Bar Smith spent a short time in a California jail but it seems he has served his time.
Upon being released, Bar must follow some strict rules. He is on probation for a year, must attend substance abuse evaluations, parenting classes, and follow the no-contact order in place with Ashley. The couple did file for divorce but that was dismissed when they did not attend a hearing.
Teen Mom Fans React To Bar’s Release
After learning that Bar Smith had been freed after eight months, Teen Mom fans had a lot of thoughts. This was a traumatizing experience for Ashley Jones and now, he is back on the loose. Now, if he does anything again of this nature, he would face a $5K fine and several years behind bars. As for the viewers, they did not think the time he served was fair or long enough. Plus, they were fearful Ashley may take him back:
- if this franchise has taught me anything it’s that people rarely actually receive consequences for anything
-
I’ve seen this story play out too much on true-crime channels too often. I can only hope that Ashley doesn’t bring him back around but I know the chances are high that she will continue this ugly cycle that’s so hard to break.
- Good lord. She’s got to be living in so much fear. I hope she doesn’t have to share custody. But it probably won’t work that way.
