Amber Portwood Misses A Moment, Could She Be Pregnant?
Amber Portwood does not have the best track record as a mother. She has a daughter, Leah with her ex-fiance, Gary Shirley. Their pregnancy was featured on 16 & Pregnant but fell apart after Leah was born. It was very combative with Gary gaining primary custody. Amber had a lot of emotional, mental, and personal issues to work out plus she was dealing with substance abuse. Ultimately, she was in and out of Leah’s life no matter how many times she claimed she would make it right. It came to the point when Leah wanted her stepmother, Kristina to adopt her.
She felt Kristina was there for her when she needed a maternal figure and over the last few years, has referred to her as “mom.” Even the men of Teen Mom see that Kristina has brought a lot to the table and understand why Leah is so close to her. Along with Leah, Amber has a son named James with her ex, Andrew Glennon. Andrew moved James to California when they split so it has been hard for Amber to see him. She then became engaged to Gary Wayt but he went missing. They then broke up.
In the Thursday, February 6th episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Leah was gifted a car as she prepared to turn 16. According to Too Fab, Gary explained that he tried to reach Amber Portwood but she did not respond. Then, she did not want to open her door for the camera crew but did ask them for a pregnancy test which is something that has happened in the past. So, was the mother of two pregnant?
The Results Are In
Amber Portwood claimed she was worried she may have made a mistake. Later on, she spoke with production and explained that she never took the test and it was actually a diversionary tactic:
“No, sorry. There’s been many times in my life where I’ve had to lie in order to get out of doing things because I’m not able to get ready, get dressed, move around, do anything. You just lie to people and say, ‘I’m busy, I have this sickness,’ you want to make up something to where they’re like, ‘We’re not going to do anything,’ ‘You don’t have to film.”
She admitted that she was still in a very dark place after Gary Wayt left her. The time when he was missing, she was called horrible names and slammed constantly. Now, she is in a very dark place and does not know how to move forward. Amber knows Leah does not want a path forward but she knows that she is a caring mom, she just messed up a lot.
