King Charles on a Time Travel Journey: Packing a Suitcase for the Year 2125
This marks the beginning of a special journey into the future for King Charles (76) and his charity organization, The King’s Foundation. This year, the foundation, originally established by Charles in 1990 under the name The Prince’s Trust, celebrates its 35th anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, the King and his staff will frequently place various objects into what is called a time capsule, which will be retrieved and opened in 100 years.

The special event marking the start of this journey through time took place at Dumfries House Estate in Scotland—the headquarters of The King’s Foundation. Guests included legendary musician Rod Stewart (80) and his wife Penny Lancaster (53), who have long been prominent supporters of the charity.
In his suitcase for the year 2125, Charles will store, among other items, traditional Scottish fabrics and various crafts from across the United Kingdom. The items were selected by students who have received support from The King’s Foundation. The time capsule itself was crafted from oak by Aiden Lawley, a graduate of the Snowdon School of Furniture, who was also previously funded by Charles’s organization.
Over the years, The King’s Foundation has attracted a significant number of prominent supporters. Among them are David (49) and Victoria Beckham (50), as well as supermodel Naomi Campbell (54), all of whom have been key advocates for the royal charity.
When Charles established his organization, he was still titled the Prince of Wales and aimed to make the world a better place. The core focus of The King’s Foundation is education in areas such as urban design, architecture, and environmental protection. Alumni are encouraged to learn how to shape and transform the world around them in a sustainable way.
