Tuesday (January 14) brought a very special appointment for Duchess Kate (43)
The wife of the heir to the throne, Prince William (42), visited the Royal Marsden Hospital in the Chelsea district – the London hospital where she herself underwent cancer treatment. Later, the 43-year-old announced news that brought a sigh of relief.
Duchess Kate Recovers from Cancer: Prince William’s Wife in Remission
The mother of three has overcome cancer, as she revealed on Instagram. She is now in “remission,” Duchess Kate shared in an emotional and personal Instagram post. This means that doctors can no longer detect tumor cells (for now). The 43-year-old is now considered cancer-free but remains under medical observation, as the risk of cancer returning still exists.
However, the daughter-in-law of King Charles III (76) — who also revealed her cancer diagnosis in February 2024 — is initially allowed to rejoice in her recovery. Her message through social media was also very touching: “Such a relief,” she wrote. And: “We couldn’t ask for more.”
Kate went on to express special gratitude to the hospital staff who “took such wonderful care of me over the past year” and “everyone who quietly supported William and me as we went through it all.” However, at the end of her post, she made it clear that the illness had left its mark: “Anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer knows that it takes time to adjust to the new normal.”
