Taking Charge of Garrison’s Estate

Exclusive Arizona court papers reveal that Janelle has been officially appointed as the Personal Representative of her late son’s estate. In this capacity, she managed the sale of Garrison’s Arizona home, a four-bedroom, two-bathroom property that sold for $388,650 on December 26, 2024. The home, originally purchased by Garrison in December 2021 for $329,000, underwent several price cuts before finally finding a buyer.

The real estate listing highlighted features such as fresh paint, vinyl floors, air conditioning, and a gas fireplace. Despite the charm of the property, the sale took months, reflecting the challenging nature of the market and the emotional weight for Janelle.

A Tragic Loss

Garrison’s passing occurred in the bedroom of his home. The heartbreaking incident was discovered by his brother Gabe on the morning of March 5. According to police reports, Garrison had been struggling with mental health issues and alcohol abuse. Janelle revealed that her son had sent troubling messages the night before, and she expressed regret over not seeking help for him earlier. The estrangement between Garrison and his father, Kody Brown, further added to the complexity of his struggles.

Fractured Family Ties

The tension between Garrison and Kody was well-documented on “Sister Wives.” The father and son clashed over Kody’s strict COVID-19 rules and his preference for spending time with his fourth wife, Robyn, and their children. This estrangement became a focal point in Janelle and Kody’s eventual split, which was confirmed during the “Sister Wives: One on One” special in 2023.

Janelle paid tribute to her son on social media, sharing cherished memories and expressing the enduring closeness she feels with him.

A New Chapter for Janelle

Janelle has since relocated to North Carolina, where she is focusing on building a new life. She has partnered with her daughter Madison and son-in-law Caleb Brush to launch Taeda Farms, purchasing 156.4 acres of land in Chocowinity, North Carolina, for $289,000. This new venture marks a fresh start for Janelle as she works to heal and move forward.
