Kate Middleton’s epic response to Prince William’s birthday present blunder
Prince William looks to be pulling out all the stops for Princess Kate’s 43rd birthday.
The couple are set to spend the day together at home before enjoying family time with their three children at the end of school, when George, Charlotte, and Louis will likely present Kate with a thoughtful homemade gift, as per tradition.
In an unprecendented written message on social media today, William paid tribute to his “incredible” wife, hailing the strength she has shown in the past year following her cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy treatment as ‘remarkable’.
The message was accompanied by a new, unseen picture of Kate taken by Matt Porteous, in Windsor, last summer showing the princess looking relaxed and smiling with her hands in her jeans pockets and wearing a gingham scarf.
And after a particularly difficult year for the Princess, her husband will likely want to spoil Kate behind closed doors. But the mum-of-three will be hoping William has learnt from his past blunder. The future King previously admitted he had presented Kate with an unusual gift – and it didn’t go down well.
The Prince’s confession came during an appearance on former England striker Peter Crouch’s podcast in 2020. In a discussion about presents, Crouch revealed he had bought his model wife Abbey Clancy a raincoat three years running for her birthday.
William then admitted: “I did get my wife a pair of binoculars once – she’s never let me forget that. That was early on in the courtship that was – I think that sealed the deal! It didn’t go well. Honestly, I have no idea why I bought her a pair of binoculars, it seemed like a good idea at the time!”
Happily for Kate, William will likely choose a different path this year. Royal expert Jennie Bond : “This birthday is going to be memorable in so many ways – it will mark the start of a new and hopefully happier year and the end of one that has been brutal for the whole family.”
Discussing what William likely has in store for his wife, she added: “For her husband and children, this will be an excuse to spoil her rotten and, even though it falls on a school day, I’m sure that’s exactly what they’ll do.
“I imagine they will shower her with gifts – perhaps some pampering products like luxurious bath oils and scented candles. Maybe William will buy her some silk pyjamas or cashmere jumpers – things that are soft on skin [after] treatment.”
And the future King might even take to the kitchen to spoil his wife. “Even though he says he’s not a very good cook, Catherine did tell Mary Berry that he’s quite good at breakfasts
