Emmerdale airs heartbreaking double exit as villager returns with shocking news
There were emotional scenes on Emmerdale on Friday night as a character bowed out of the village after 13 years, and she didn’t leave alone.
Two characters left the show for good, with some big news rocking their loved ones. A character made a comeback after years away too for the special sendoff.
Amelia Spencer, played by actress Daisy Campbell, left the village in heartbreaking scenes after recent turmoil. Just before village residents learned of the departure, Amelia’s biological father Daz Spencer made his comeback after five years away.
Despite Amelia not seemingly being in contact with him, she and Daz revealed they’d actually remained in touch and had gotten closer. Now, Amelia planned to move away with her daughter Esther, to live with Daz.
The news came as a shock to her loved ones, with close friend and former stepmother Kerry Wyatt trying to stop her from leaving. But after a heart-to-heart with Belle Dingle, after the recent drama with Tom King, Amelia knew she was doing what was best for her and young Esther.

Daz returned to the village to help Amelia pack up her things, and to take her to her new home. As the episode came to an emotional end, she said her goodbyes to her pals and loved ones, hugging it out with Kerry before driving out of the village for a fresh start.
Amelia actress Daisy joined the show in 2011, and was sad after it was confirmed she was being written out of the show. She recently told The Mirror: “It feels really sad. It’s mixed emotions really I think. It’s been such a tough year, and I’ve had to deal with so much, but I was so at peace when leaving because I’ve grieved.
“I’m not only grieving for myself, it’s a character that I’ve always played. This is my first ever job from being seven, so it felt really sad. But then it was nice to close the door and be at peace, because I’ve just allowed it to play out as it has this year.
“But yeah, it’s really upsetting, because it’s all I’ve ever known, but I mean new things and maybe new parts next year. Who knows? But yeah, it’s been sad. It’s been really sad.”
On her emotional exit plot, she revealed: “It was weird, because we film in two-week blocks. So, the first week was really emotional, because Mark Jordon who plays Daz came back. It was lovely to see him again. That was really emotional and whenever I work with Laura Norton, who plays Kerry Wyatt, she’s so good at doing emotions.
“The way she cries, I cry. But then the second week, I think I was used to it, because I was really dreading my last block, because I hate crying in front of people unless it’s for a scene. I didn’t really cry that much. I was actually proud of myself. I was like, ‘Oh, I’ve not got teary once this week.’ But yeah, it was emotional, really emotional.”
