King Charles was most ‘hurt’ by Harry and Meghan’s actions for one heartbreaking reason
A new book has claimed that King Charles's relationship with his youngest son, Prince Harry, was hit the hardest by his decision to quit Royal life with wife Meghan Markle

Royal expert Robert Jobson has suggested that Prince Harry’s decision to step back from his duties and move to the US with Meghan Markle affected Prince Charles the most, due to his close bond with his younger son.
In Jobson’s latest book, Catherine, the Princess of Wales : The Biography: Discover the truth behind the headlines, it is revealed that Charles “tried to reach out to Meghan and treated her with the same love and affection as he did Catherine”. The author further suggests that the Prince of Wales “welcomed her with open arms”, making the fallout from Megxit even more difficult for him to bear.
Jobson also implies that Harry has always been Charles’s favourite son, which is why his and Meghan’s controversial decisions, including Harry’s revealing memoir Spare and the couple’s Netflix documentary about their Royal struggles, hit him hard.

An excerpt from the new biography about Kate Middleton reads: “At first Charles tried to reach out to Meghan and treated her with the same love and affection as he did Catherine. But they are very different characters.”
“He welcomed her with open arms and wanted her to feel part of the family. That is why Harry and Meghan’s behaviour has cut him to the quick.”, reports the Express.
Jobson believes the silver lining in this challenging situation is that it has brought Charles and his heir, William, closer together.
The book further reveals: “Before all this happened, Charles was much closer to his second son than to William.

“But if there is a positive to be taken from the Sussexes’ departure, it is that William and his father are now closer than they were before, perhaps more than they have ever been.”
A source also shared that Kate, William’s wife, has helped him understand his father “better” over the years.
They stated: “The duchess is somebody who always tries to see both sides of any dispute. She has a cool head and is ’emotionally mature’; she can open William’s eyes to other points of view like no other.”
The last time Harry saw his father was shortly after the King announced his cancer battle, with the Duke still remaining distant from his family.
In the ITV documentary ‘Tabloids on Trial’, which aired earlier this month, Harry explained his reluctance to bring his wife and their kids, five year old Prince Archie and three year old Princess Lilibet, to the UK to visit the King.
The father of two expressed “genuine concerns” for their safety and asserted that “all it takes is one lone actor”.
