Emmerdale ‘confirms’ character comeuppance as unexpected saviour enters the mix in 18 pictures
Emmerdale lines up a moment a year in the making next week, as confirmed in my new picture spoilers, with Tom King (James Chase) set to face some serious questions over his unacceptable behaviour.
The abuser, as viewers know, has evaded justice time and again for what he subjected wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) to throughout their marriage.
Belle bravely told her loved ones about Tom’s abuse and, as is always the case in Emmerdale, it didn’t take long for word to spread around the village, with Tom under suspicion and facing questions.
His uncle Jimmy (Nick Miles), however, refuses to believe that Tom is capable of such abuse, as does Nicola (Nicola Wheeler). But Nicola is soon given reason to think there might be more to this than meets the eye after learning that youngest son Carl Holliday (Charlie Joyce) is terrified of Tom.
Upcoming scenes will see cafe owner Nicola quiz Carl further on the subject but the boy clams up when Tom unexpectedly returns home, which leaves her frustrated.
Unwilling to give up, Nicola digs for clues and, after finding the radio-controlled car in the bin, she questions Carl once more – and subsequently turns her attention to Tom, with a heated showdown unfolding in Victoria cottage as Nicola threatens the abuser with the police.
Will Tom finally pay for his sins? Will Nicola work out the extent of Tom’s manipulation in regards to how he’s treated Carl?
And just how will Jimmy react to the whole situation? The patriarch certainly feels caught in the middle, that’s for sure, but will he do the right thing and side with Nicola over his nephew?
Elsewhere during the week in question, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) struggles with the prospect of Moira (Natalie J Robb) going away to visit Adam and, as they say goodbye to one another, they’re both painfully aware that this could be a rehearsal for a more permanent farewell.
Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) grows concerned over Billy Fletcher’s (Jay Kontzle) refusal to back out of the illegal fight and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) gets a blast from the past.
It’s going to be quite a week.
