If you’d told me last week that at the end of episode nine of Love Is Blind season seven Ashley and Tyler would be on the brink of a breakup, I would have told you to respectively shut-up.
From day one in the pods they’ve been a solid couple and mainly drama free. And as they continued their journey on the group trip to Mexico, they became smitten with each other and deepened their love. However, after a turbulent time back in DC, things are now heavily on the rocks for Ashley and Tyler. So are they still together? Here’s what we know.
What happened with Ashley and Tyler on Love Is Blind?
32-year-old marketing director Ashley and 34-year-old account manager Tyler easily had one of the cutest and smoothest journeys in the pods. They had deep conversations, talking about their childhoods, with Tyler revealing his mother’s struggle to put food on the table when he was growing up.
And on a lighter note they connected over their shared love of horse riding, wanting to go sky diving and their other shared values.
They became boyfriend and girlfriend after the pair connected over Tyler’s stories of his childhood. Then it turned to Tyler’s birthday, but rather than it being a celebration of his birth, the pair get engaged.
Ashley made a heartwarming engagement speech, and then Tyler gets down on one knee and pops the question. When it came to their reveal, it could not have gone better with the pair both being very happy with what they saw.
They then went to Mexico with the rest of the group, and continued to grow their love for each other. They go on cute dates, have deep conversations and we all thought they were just heading straight down the aisle.
And it still seems to be going strong when they meet Ashley’s dad back in DC. While he grills him a little bit, ultimately Ashley’s dad seems to really warm to Tyler and gives him his blessing to marry his daughter.
So far, so good right? Well things then take a turn in episode nine. Throughout the process the pair had had many discussions about children and whether they wanted them, how many and how’d they raise them.
However, it turns out in episode nine, that Tyler did not reveal to Ashley he has in fact already fathered three children via sperm donation. Tyler donated his sperm to help out a family in need, which resulted in the birth of three children, that he said he has no involvement with. He told her this off camera during the events of episode nine, and we see the aftermath unfold in the episode.
Ashley is incredibly shocked at the revelation, and Tyler choosing to keep it from her. During a conversation at their apartment Ashley tells Tyler, “I’m not upset by you trying to help a couple have kids. I think that’s admirable in certain ways, but the issue comes in with me feeling like I was not getting the full picture of you….Me being a single woman before this, to come into a scenario, to fall in love with a guy who has three sperm-donor babies is a lot to absorb, and the wedding is in like two weeks.”
Tyler then apologises, and tells her he wants to still fight for their relationship and be married to her and have a family of their own one day. The episode ends on a cliff-hanger of if the pair will still be together.
Are Ashley and Tyler from Love Is Blind still together?
Right now we don’t know for sure as the rest of the Love Is Blind season seven episodes are yet to air. One thing we do know is Ashley and Tyler both follow each other on Instagram, so there’s at least an indication things are friendly between them.
We’ll just have to wait for next week’s episodes to be sure.
