King Charles and Prince William ‘came ready for a fight’ to secret meeting with Prince Harry
Prince Harry has opened up about a private meeting with Prince William and King Charles, claiming his father begged his sons not to 'make my final years a misery'
King Charles and Prince William looked like they had “come ready for a fight” during a secret meeting with Prince Harry amid the Royal Family feud.
The Duke of Sussex has had a tumultuous relationship with his brother and father ever since he made a number of explosive claims about the British Royal Family. However, Harry has tried to mend their relationship over the years.
In his bombshell memoir Spare, Harry recalled how he had arranged to meet with William and Charles at Frogmore Cottage following the funeral of his grandfather Prince Philip. Harry was left waiting for a long time and when Charles and William finally arrived, he claimed they didn’t look happy.

Harry said he tried to keep his “emotions in check” as he explained his side of the Royal Family feud. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse, with Harry writing: “I’d vowed not to let this encounter devolve into another argument. But I quickly discovered that it wasn’t up to me.
“Pa and Willy had their parts to play, and they’d come ready for a fight. Every time I ventured a new explanation, started a new line of thought, one or both of them would cut me off.”
Harry said William in particular “didn’t want to hear anything” and claimed his brother shut him down several times, leading to an argument breaking out between the two brothers.

Charles ended the argument with a heartbreaking plea to his sons. Harry remembered: “It got so heated that Pa raised his hands. Enough! He stood between us, looking up at our flushed faces: Please, boys-don t make my final years a misery.”
Harry hasn’t seen his brother in years and last met with his father in February when the king was diagnosed with cancer. The Duke of Sussex was expected to reunite with his father during his brief return to the UK in May.
However, a spokesperson for Harry issued a statement saying that wouldn’t be happening. It read: “It, unfortunately, will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program. The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
