Angel Reese Makes Shocking Declaration About Bold Plan for WNBA Playoffs!
Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky were in a prime position to make the WNBA Playoffs for a good portion of the 2024 season.
After starting the season 11-15, the Sky dropped 12 of their final 14 games, allowing the Atlanta Dream to steal the final playoff spot. Reese also saw her season end six games early after announcing a wrist injury she suffered on September 6.
Without Reese, Chicago pulled the plug on the 2024 season in the final two games, benching key players such as Chennedy Carter and Kamilla Cardoso. The Sky finished the season with a 13-27 record, the third-worst in the WNBA.
On Sunday, during Game 1 of the New York Liberty vs. Atlanta Dream first-round series, Reese took to Instagram to reveal her prediction for the Sky next season.
“We will make the playoffs next year!!” Reese captioned her story.
With a year of experience for Reese and Cardoso, the return of some stars from injury and a top pick in the 2025 draft, the Sky could definitely make a push at the postseason next year.
During her rookie season, Reese found herself neck-and-neck with Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark for the Rookie of the Year award before her season-ending injury. In 34 games this season, Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds. Initially, Reese broke the WNBA record for most rebounds in a single season, but after missing the final stretch, Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson stole that record away.
