Teen Mom’s Amber Portwood Speaks Out Following Partner Gary Wayt’s Sudden Disappearance: ‘Very Scared’
Amber Portwood has issued a desperate plea to her fans and the public as her partner Gary Wayt remains missing.
Wayt, 39, was reported missing by the Bryson City Police Department in North Carolina on June 11, according to a Facebook post, and was last seen in the area on June 9.
On June 11, Portwood joined a YouTube livestream to give an update on the situation as she called it a “huge deal.”
“His parents, everybody is very worried. I am worried,” Portwood, 34, said. “We are very scared right now.”
Wayt was last seen “alone” and “on camera” at a “Walgreens” in the area, she said, “and that is all that we know.”
The Teen Mom star clarified that there “was not a big blowout fight or anything like that” between her and her boyfriend, before admitting that they had “a discussion” before he left the house.
“Nobody was heated or anything, it was emotional because it had something to do with the fact of his parents being Vietnamese and me being who I am,” Portwood said. “He was very upset about this, I was upset. We do not yell at each other, we do not hurt each other.”
‘
She added that when Wayt left, “he took his keys and he took his wallet but he did not take his phone.”
“We are very in love. This man asked me to be with him, this man then asked me to marry him,” she said, before issuing a plea to the public: “Please, if anybody sees him or hears anything, please, I am begging all of you guys.”
“I am praying for anybody that sees him. Nobody has found him or heard from him yet.”
According to the police department’s post, Wayt weighs 205 lbs., is bald and has brown eyes.
Authorities also noted that he owns a grey 2009 Nissan Rogue SUV, and encouraged anyone with information on Wayt’s whereabouts to contact the police department at 828-488-2196.
