Prince William and Kate Middleton’s sad verdict on Harry and Meghan reconciliation ‘revealed’

Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly struggling to see a way forward with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following the Duke of Sussex’s latest public comments, with insiders claiming the pair have reached a heartbreaking verdict about reconciliation.

According to a royal insider who spoke exclusively to Us Weekly, the royal family felt “hurt and betrayed” by Harry’s BBC interview.

Harry spoke to the BBC after losing his recent court appeal over his downgraded security in the UK. Harry and Meghan’s automatic taxpayer-funded police protection in the UK was downgraded when they stepped back from duties in 2020. It’s now decided on a case-by-case basis.

During the interview, Harry revealed that his father, King Charles, “won’t speak” to him. However, he also expressed a desire to reconcile despite years of tell-all interviews and his 2023 memoir Spare, which contained allegations about the royals.

In his interview with the BBC, Harry did not mention Prince William or Kate, which reportedly cut deeper.

“William is more hurt than anything else,” the source claimed, describing the emotional fallout. “[He and Kate] are not giving [Harry and Meghan] the time of day.”

The insider claimed that William, 42, and Kate, 43, have intentionally distanced themselves from the Sussexes in order to create a more peaceful home environment.

This is partially so Kate can continue her recovery from cancer with no stress. The Princess of Wales publicly revealed her diagnosis in March 2024. She announced in January 2025 that she’s in remission.

Tensions between the couples have existed for years. Meghan and Kate in particular clashed over Kate’s daughter Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress not fitting properly for Meghan’s wedding to Harry.

The disagreement reportedly left both Meghan and Kate in tears.

Since Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and moved to the US, communication has reportedly been strained.

‘Kate will never see Meghan again’

In this latest development, the insider claimed that Kate has drawn a firm line, especially after Harry’s most recent remarks.

“No one on the staff can mention Meghan’s name to Kate right now,” the source alleged. “Her name is basically banned because of the stress around it. She doesn’t want it anymore.”

When it comes to the future of the family, the source suggested that any chance of a reunion rests solely on Harry.

However, it would be without Meghan’s involvement. The source allegedly said that Kate “will never see Meghan again”.

No one on the staff can mention Meghan’s name to Kate right now.

The insider did, however, clarify that not all the blame is placed on Meghan, and that Harry bears significant responsibility too.

Despite the cold distance, there’s still a chance for forgiveness, but only for Harry.

According to the source, William and Kate are still open to a reconciliation with Harry “because he’s family”. However, they have no interest in repairing their relationship with Meghan.

As for moving forward, the message from the Prince and Princess of Wales seems clear.

The source claimed that William and Kate “don’t see a path forward until Harry can stay quiet”.
