rince Harry’s hopes of a reconciliation with his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, appear increasingly unlikely as months pass without meaningful communication.
Recently, the Duke of Sussex said he would like to reconcile with his family after years of disagreements.
King Charles and Prince Harry’s last meeting
The last in-person meeting between Harry and King Charles occurred in February 2024.
It came just after Buckingham Palace publicly confirmed that the monarch, 76, had been diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer.
The fact that I was able to go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.

Prince Harry, 40, made a swift trip from California to London. Photos captured his quiet arrival at Clarence House. Despite the gravity of the occasion, their reunion was reportedly fleeting, lasting just 30 minutes.
“I love my family,” Harry said at the time in a Good Morning America interview. “The fact that I was able to go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”
The prince added that he hoped to return to the UK in the future.
He said: “I’ve got other trip plans that will take me through the UK, or back to the UK. So, I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can.”
But that intention has not led to further reunions it seems. When Harry visited London in May 2024 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, it was reported that he did not meet with King Charles.
A spokesperson for Harry confirmed the king’s schedule was too full to allow for a visit.
Prince Harry calls for family reconciliation
During his BBC interview earlier this month, Harry reiterated his wish for peace. He said he would love to have a “reconciliation” with his family.
“There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” he said. “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
But according to insiders, Harry’s calls and letters to the king have gone unanswered.
A source close to the Duke of Sussex claimed that he “remains in the dark” about his father’s health, and only learned about Charles’ hospitalisation in March through the media.
Royal biographer Robert Jobson urged the monarch to consider one final olive branch.
“If you read between the lines, Harry was clearly reaching out to his father,” he told HELLO!. “The only way this is going to be resolved and to stop this becoming the focus of the king’s reign is for Charles to take a shot in the dark and give Harry a last chance to build bridges.”
Will King Charles ever forgive Harry?
Robert added that Charles may still have the capacity to forgive.
The royal author said: “The king is someone who understands forgiveness and has made mistakes himself. If anyone can be the bigger man in this situation, it would be him.”
Do Prince William and Harry get along?
Harry’s bond with Prince William remains just as fractured. The last known meeting between the pair was last year, when they attended a memorial service in August 2024 for their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, husband to Princess Diana’s sister, Lady Jane Fellowes.
The service took place in Norfolk, and both William and Harry were in attendance. However, they were not seen interacting. Reports claim they don’t talk to each other anymore.
In April 2025, a friend of the Duke of Sussex told Express that Harry wants to reopen dialogue.
They claimed: “Harry really is keen to salvage some kind of relationship or even reopen dialogue. They have not had any full-length conversations or discussions since they had some time together around the Queen’s passing.”
Royal author Katie Nicholl suggested that following Harry’s move to California, the brothers initially kept in touch via video calls, especially around birthdays or holidays. But the bond now seems fractured.
In his 2021 tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, Harry described his relationship with William.
He said: “I love William to bits. We’ve been through hell together. But we’re on different paths. The relationship is space at the moment.”
But since then and since Harry’s explosive tell-all memoir in 2023, sources claim that William has lost trust in his brother.
A royal insider recently told Us Weekly: “William doesn’t talk about Harry anymore. Everyone knows it’s a subject that they shouldn’t bring up.”
During his latest visit to London in April for court hearings over his loss of taxpayer-funded security, Harry stayed at Coworth Park, just a short drive from William and Kate’s Windsor home. However, no face-to-face encounter occurred, according to reports.
