Shocking Moment: King Charles Reunites with His Ex Right Beside Camilla!

König Charles III. & Camilla: Jetzt wird's richtig peinlich

The commemorations for the end of World War II 80 years ago, on May 8, 1945 (known as VE Day, short for Victory in Europe Day), will span four days. On May 6, ahead of King Charles III’s (76) appearance, Queen Camilla (77), Prince William (42), Princess Kate (43), Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (10), and Prince Louis (7) gathered on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the Royal Air Force flypast and a grand military parade.

Before marrying Princess Diana, King Charles had a relationship with her older sister, Sarah.

The parade made its way from the Houses of Parliament down the grand boulevard of The Mall to Buckingham Palace, where the Royal Family was seated on a viewing platform. According to Hello!, to King Charles’ right sat Queen Camilla, and to his left – surprisingly – sat former magazine editor Joy Trew (98). Also present was Sarah McCorquodale (70), née Spencer.

Lady Sarah is the older sister of King Charles’ first wife, Princess Diana (36, †1997). Sarah and Charles met in 1977. During a visit to his then-girlfriend Sarah at the Spencer family estate, Althorp House, Charles was introduced to her 16-year-old younger sister, Diana. The relationship between Sarah and Charles came to an end in the late 1970s, after she gave a newspaper interview in which she declared, among other things, that she would not marry Charles “whether he were the dustman or the King of England,” as quoted by journalist James Whitaker (71, †2012), according to The Mirror.

As history would have it, Charles eventually married Diana, Sarah’s younger sister – but there was no animosity between the King and his former flame. After Charles and Diana became officially engaged, Sarah told The Guardian: “I introduced them. I’m Cupid.”

Lady Sarah, who married Neil Edmund McCorquodale (73) in 1980, also attended the wedding of her nephew Prince William to Kate Middleton and was present when Prince Harry (40) married Meghan Markle (43).

During the Victory in Europe Day military parade, King Charles and his former girlfriend, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, warmly greeted veteran Joy Trew amid the crowds. Photos show them tenderly wrapping the 98-year-old man in a blanket, both Charles and Sarah smiling joyfully.
