Explosion Imminent! Will Prince Harry Ruin King Charles and Camilla’s Birthday Plans?
The Invictus Games, organized by Prince Harry, could spark tensions as they are set to take place in July 2027—the same month Queen Camilla celebrates her 80th birthday.
The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry (40), will return to the UK for the first time since 2014. According to the official Invictus Games Foundation, the event will be held in Birmingham in July 2027. However, this timing may cause friction within the royal family, as it coincides with Queen Camilla’s (77) milestone birthday celebration.
King Charles III (76) is reportedly planning a grand celebration for his wife. Preparations for the royal event are said to be well underway. According to the Daily Mail, a thanksgiving service is expected to take place at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. The Invictus Games, making their long-awaited return to the UK, could be seen as an “unwanted distraction” from the royal festivities.
Tensions could escalate if the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan (43), accompanies Harry to Birmingham. Since “Megxit” in 2020, she has rarely set foot in the UK and remains deeply unpopular there. Harry and Meghan have been living in California with their children, Archie (5) and Lilibet (3), after stepping down as senior working royals in 2020. Their relationship with the British royal family has significantly deteriorated due to their public accusations and criticisms.
“Dangerous”: Prince Harry’s Broken Relationship with Queen Camilla
Prince Harry’s relationship with his stepmother, Queen Camilla, appears particularly strained. In his 2023 memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex did not speak favorably of Camilla, even calling her “dangerous.” During a CBS interview with American journalist Anderson Cooper (57), Harry claimed that Camilla’s “need to rehabilitate her image made her dangerous,” as she had cultivated close ties with the British press. In his book, he also revealed that he and his brother, Prince William (42), had asked their father not to marry Camilla.
Although Harry and Meghan have started a new life in the U.S., the Duke of Sussex seems to remain discontent with his situation. Could the upcoming Invictus Games trigger yet another royal rift?
