Royal Christmas Shocker: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry “Banned” from Sandringham!
This year, King Charles (76) will traditionally celebrate it with his closest circle at the Sandringham estate. However, the royal invitation doesn’t seem to extend to all family members. The King does not wish for his son, Prince Harry (40), and his wife Meghan (43) to stay with him.
According to a source cited by people.com, Prince Harry, Meghan, and their children, Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (3), have not received an invitation from King Charles for the royal Christmas party at Sandringham. It has now been six years since the Sussexes participated in the traditional celebration. The last time the couple spent Christmas with the British monarch was in 2018, the year they were married.
The situation is different for Crown Prince William (42), Princess Kate (42), and their three children, Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9), and Prince Louis (6). Although neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace has commented on the Christmas guest list, it can be assumed they will celebrate alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla (77), who has been in poor health, just as they did last year. The eldest son and his family also attended “Trooping the Color,” the monarch’s annual birthday celebration, despite Kate largely stepping back from public engagements at the time due to cancer.
In contrast, Prince Harry, Meghan, and their children were not invited to this event either. The rift among the royals has been ongoing for years and shows no sign of reconciliation. The main point of contention, according to People’s source, is Harry’s wish for his father to ensure his safety. Since stepping back from royal duties, the 40-year-old has been fighting for increased police protection.
According to those close to Prince Harry, matters have deteriorated to the point where King Charles no longer answers his son’s calls or letters. “He gets the response that ‘the King is unavailable,’” a friend of Harry told the magazine earlier this year. “His calls are ignored. He’s tried checking on the King’s health, but even those calls have gone unanswered.”
