Princess Charlotte inherited ‘brilliant ability’ from late Queen that left guests ‘in stitches’

Princess Charlotte has followed in the footsteps of both her grandmother and great grandmother when it comes to special skills

When it comes to hidden talents, it’s no secret that the royal family are a talented bunch, with everything from photography to cooking – and even playing the drums, among their impressive array of unexpected skills. But one young royal that appears to have inherited a family talent, is Princess Charlotte, who has not only followed in her grandmother Princess Diana’s footsteps as a keen dancer, but also inherited her great grandmother the late Queen’s unexpected dinner party trick, that regularly left many royal dinner guests ‘in stitches’.

According to Royal author Phil Dampier, much like the late Queen, Princess Charlotte is a very talented impressionist, and regularly enjoys imitating a host of famous faces and characters much to the delight of her family members. Speaking to HELLO!, Dampier explained: “I’m told Charlotte has also inherited from the late Queen a brilliant ability to mimic prominent figures. That should come in handy at Christmas when the royals gather in the evening at Sandringham to play charades.

He then continued: ”Queen Elizabeth used to have her family in stitches with her impersonations of politicians, including US Presidents and former Russian leader Boris Yeltsin.”

In fact, broadcaster Gyles Brandeth also once famously commended the Queen for her uncanny skill at imitation, when he let slip on the Right Royal Podcast, that she “could do regional accents from all over the country”.

Meanwhile, when she’s not busy copying her grandmother’s cheeky antics, Princess Charlotte can often be found perfecting her footwork on the dance floor, with the dance mad royal eagerly showing off her favourite moves to songs by artists such as Taylor Swift, who she was able to see in concert earlier this year.

Charlotte also couldn’t hide her delight when she and her brother Prince Louis visited the Strictly Come Dancing set back in 2023, and again when she was treated to a stunning performance of the ballet Swan Lake at the London Coliseum.

In addition to her dancing and cheeky penchant for impressions, Charlotte is also a keen cook, having been spotted in the past cooking alongside her mum Princess Kate, particularly when it comes to sweet treats. She is also believed to have developed an interest in tennis too, having accompanied her mother earlier this year to Wimbledon amid Kate’s cancer treatment.
