The detective is played by Robert Cavanah and arrived earlier this year. Foy launched an investigation into Tom following Belle’s report, and managed to track him down and have the evil man arrested before he left the country.
Because audience members of the ITV soap have enjoyed seeing DS Foy on our screens, they are now hoping to see him on a more permanent basis.
Pondering over the possibilities of exploring new storylines with this character, some fans believe he could become Manpreet Sharma’s (Rebecca Sarker) new love interest.
On a Facebook page dedicated to the show, a user wrote: ‘Aww I think they are suited and would make a good couple’, when a conversation about the two characters began.
Another echoed the thoughts and wrote: ‘I would love to see that’.
While there are currently no plans to see DS Foy away from his detective role, turning him into a full-time character is certainly a possibility. Look at DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) from Coronation Street after all!
