Popular ITV duo who ‘called it quits’ after colossal falling out make peace with unexpected hug
Emmerdale’s Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) was left overjoyed to learn that son Vinny (Bradley Johnson) had forgiven her, as the mother and son duo shared a warm hug at Wishing Well.
Vinny, as fans of the ITV soap will know, was knocked for six earlier this week when he discovered that Tina (Samantha Power), who returned to the village last month, is actually his biological mum.
Not only that but Mandy paid Tina off, essentially ‘buying’ Vinny when he was a baby, because she had fallen in love with him and knew that she could offer him a better life than Tina ever could.
Vinny struggled to get his head around everything and disowned Mandy, telling her that – despite what she thinks – she’s not his mum.
Tina, meanwhile, showed her true colours when she was willing to take £50k from Vinny in exchange for leaving the village – but she didn’t get a penny, with Vinny having given her a packet full of pieces of paper instead of cash.
With Tina seemingly out of their hair thanks to Cain (Jeff Hordley), Mandy was desperate to make things right with Vinny – but he proved evasive, not ready to talk about the whole thing.
Mandy resolved to give her son space but Lydia (Karen Blick) recommended against such a thing, encouraging her to ensure that Vinny knows beyond a shadow of a doubt just how much she loves him.
Taking such advice, Mandy headed up to Wishing Well with a photo album filled with memories of Vinny’s childhood as she desperately tried to make amends.
Vinny struggled to stay mad and, after calling Mandy ‘mum’ again, the duo shared a hug.
Not crying, we swear!
The question is: have we seen the last of Tina Dingle? Or will her recent bombshell – that she has more children – result in her sticking around?
