Emmerdale ‘confirms’ sad split for major couple as mighty betrayal spells the end
Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) made it quite clear to Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) in Emmerdale that she doesn’t know if she’s got it in her to forgive him following his betrayal.
Billy, as viewers know, has been taking part in illegal undergrounds fights in order to make some money so that they can keep Holdgate.
Dawn was appalled when she uncovered the truth and, with Jade (Twinnie-Lee Moore) having threatened their family, she had little time to process everything as she attempted to come up with a plan to get her husband out of this deadly situation.
With Jade desperate for Billy to take part in a re-match with Ross Barton (Michael Parr), whose loss in the previous fight left the organiser out of pocket, Dawn told Billy to go ahead with the brawl as planned.
Billy was confused but Dawn elaborated further, instructing him to lose the fight after three rounds, allowing Ross to pick up the victory. Billy struggled with the thought of such a thing, especially given Dawn and Ross’ history, but Dawn was adamant that this was the only way out of this mess.
The fight took place in a barn at Butlers due to an issue with the former venue and Dawn revealed that she’d placed a bet on Ross, hoping to secure her and Billy enough funds to deal with their money woes.
Billy, however, scuppered the whole thing as his pride got in the way and thus he refused to go along with the plan, getting back to his feet after he was supposed to stay down.
Dawn watched in horror as the fight continued while Jade was delighted, with the online streamers higher than ever.
The police, however, arrived at the scene soon afterwards, which put a swift end to proceedings. Dawn was livid with her husband, who she had to carry home, rebuking him for failing to follow her instructions.
Not only did they not manage to get out of this mess but they’ve lost a fortune in cash – cash, Dawn revealed, that she’d acquired from selling her wedding ring!
Billy realised that he’d messed up and vowed to make things right, assuring her that he will get her ring back. Dawn, however, made it quite clear that she cannot see herself wearing it again after he explicitly ignored her request.
Is this really the end of Billy and Dawn?
