Big shock for Charity as face from the past makes Emmerdale return
Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) gets a huge shock in Emmerdale next week as a familiar face stages a return.
It’s been a tough few weeks for the village favourite, who has been mourning the loss of her uncle Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) following his death earlier this month.
The Dingle family have been united in their grief as they honoured the late patriarch with a touching funeral service, but were also stunned by the arrival of Zak’s daughter Tina Dingle (Samathan Power), who was last seen in the Dales nearly 30 years ago.
Fresh from Tina’s shock comeback, spoilers for next week’s episodes have revealed that the blasts from the past do not end there, with Charity stunned to see someone another old face turn up in the village
Emmerdale bosses have not yet revealed who the mystery character is, but fans will be wondering if this could be the return of Ross Barton (Michael Parr).
It was confirmed back in September Mike would be back in a video posted by the Emmerdale X account, where Bradley Johnson – who plays Vinny Dingle – could be seen wandering around the Emmerdale building looking for a returning cast member.
Of course, fans will remember Ross was revealed as the father of Charity’s son Moses Dingle in a ‘whodunnit?’ storyline back in 2015.
He then embarked upon an affair with Charity’s daughter Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb), who was engaged to his brother Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan) at the time.
With Charity now married to Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), could her future happiness be under threat?
After a five-year stint, Ross was last seen in Emmerdale back in 2018 when he left the village alongside Rebecca White for a new life in Liverpool.
It is also possible that Ross is returning as part of his aunt Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) new health storyline, after she was recently diagnosed with a type of brain tumour called a meningioma.
Actress Natalie J Robb recently said Ross’ return would be explosive, telling Radio Times: ‘Ross is back with a bang, of course, and is going to cause some trouble, like he always does.’
‘Well, Moira did kill his mother, remember!’ Natalie joked.
