‘Sister Wives’: Kody Brown Admits He Almost Skipped Son Logan Brown’s Wedding
Kody Brown’s feelings of “betrayal” almost caused him to skip a major family event. In the Sept. 29 episode of Sister Wives, the dad of 18 complained about how “awkward” it was to attend one of his kid’s weddings because of the bad feelings between him and his former wives.
Who got married on ‘Sister Wives’?
In the third episode of Sister Wives Season 19, the members of the Brown family prepared to attend a wedding, though they wouldn’t say who was saying “I do.”
“We’re going to a wedding, and they don’t want anything to do with the fact that we’re public,” Kody’s former wife Christine Brown explained. “So, we’re just gonna have a good time there.”
While the Browns kept the bride and groom’s names under wraps, all signs point to them attending the wedding of Kody and Janelle Brown’s son Logan and his girlfriend Michelle. The couple wed in October 2022, which lines up with the filming dates for the new season. And although Logan is Kody’s eldest child, it’s been years since he appeared on Sister Wives, so it makes sense that his wedding would take place away from the cameras.
Kody Brown considered not attending his son’s wedding
Though family weddings and other celebrations have brought the Browns together in the past, the same couldn’t be said of Logan’s big day. The bad feelings between Kody and his former wives, Christine, Janelle, and Meri Brown, had him wondering if he and his remaining wife, Robyn Brown, should even attend the event.
“The last time I talked to the bride, they’d been told that Kody wasn’t going to go. Same thing with Robyn,” Christine said.
Kody admitted he was seriously considering skipping the wedding.
“I spoke with the bride and groom at one point and said, ‘I think maybe I better not come,’” Kody said.
According to Kody, “the hate” he was getting from various family members, particularly Christine and Janelle, left him feeling unwelcome at his son’s wedding.
“I don’t want to be there with people looking at me and not talking to me,” Kody said.
The other members of the Brown family were ‘nervous’ about the event
Kody wasn’t the only person nervous about the event. Robyn, Christine, Janelle, and Meri were also apprehensive about being reunited with estranged family members.
“I’m a little nervous just to have us all together,” Christine explained, though she said her goal was to be “friendly.”
For Janelle, the experience was “bittersweet,” while Meri described it as “kind of weird.” Everyone agreed that the celebration was very different from the last Brown family wedding, when Aspyn Brown said “I do” to Mitch Thompson in 2018. That was “the last hurrah” before the family moved to Flagstaff and things really started to fall apart, Kody said.
Now, Kody says he feels like an outsider.
“Robyn and I were put over kind of in a corner, probably for our safety,” he said after the event.
The Sister Wives star felt some of the guests were flaunting their happiness and trying to “look like they were having more fun” than he was. But he was in no mood to play nice.
“I saw Janelle and I didn’t want to talk to her,” he said, adding that he was still nursing “wounds of betrayal” from their breakup.
Nor did he have anything to say to Christine,
“It’s civil war, total civil war,” Kody said, adding, “Overall, the whole wedding was just sad for me.”
