Love Is Blind Season 7: Did Other Couples Get Engaged Off-Screen?
It’s been said that dating in Washington, DC is as treacherous as swimming in the Potomac, so it’s no wonder the Season 7 pod squad dove headfirst into Love Is Blind.
Nine episodes in, the dating experiment has worked its magic on this season’s singles, with seven couples leaving the pods after getting engaged sight unseen. But after nearly five years of Love Is Blind, fans have come to expect that there are often other love stories left untold. And, as we’ve seen with Brittany and Leo this season, even if you do get engaged on-camera, that doesn’t guarantee a ticket to a romantic getaway.
So were there other couples that got engaged this season? Keep reading to find out if fans are seeing all the love the Season 7 pod squad has to offer.
As it turns out, there were no engagements left out among this season’s cast. “A total of seven couples got engaged in the pods in Season 7, and we showed each of those stories through the pods,” Love Is Blind creator Chris Coelen tells Tudum. “We never know who will fall in love, and each new season is unpredictable in completely unpredictable ways.”
Of course, it’s been the case that in seasons past, some love stories were left on the cutting room floor. Two pairs of couples that the cameras didn’t follow got engaged in both Season 1 and Season 2, while every engagement was shown in Season 3. The dating experiment also did its thing for two additional couples we didn’t follow in Season 4: They shared their stories with Tudum about their journey from the pods and beyond. All of these duos, however, eventually decided to call it quits.
More recently, two members of the Love Is Blind: UK cast got engaged to each other off-screen and — just like Brittany and Leo — decided to forge ahead on their own to learn if their connection was the real deal.
As for the Season 7 couples who’ve moved on to the next phase of the experiment, only time will tell if their journeys will end in a happily ever after or a heartbreaking goodbye. “Nobody has a crystal ball, but when you see a couple display open communication, acceptance, and body language, it feels like a positive sign,” Coelen adds about the couples that progress beyond the pods. “That doesn’t mean people who express fears or nerves won’t make it. It’s all about how they handle those feelings in themselves, and in their partner.”
With their wedding days fast approaching, five couples — Marissa and Ramses, Taylor and Garrett, Nick and Hannah, Ashley and Tyler, and Alex and Tim — must decide in a matter of days whether love is both blind and built to last.
