Bristol Palin ‘Shocked’ as Son Decides to Leave Texas: Rekindled Relationship with His Dad in Alaska!
Bristol, the daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, shares her 15-year-old son, Tripp, with her ex Levi Johnston.
The 33-year-old shared a photo of her two daughters to her Instagram Story on Wednesday to relay a message to fans.
The two stood in front of their home’s entryway in their first-day-of-school outfits, backpacks over their shoulders.
The Teen Mom OG alum shares her young daughters, Sailor and Atlee, with her ex Dakota Meyer.
In text over the photo, Bristol revealed why Tripp wasn’t in the yearly shot.
“This has been the hardest ‘first day of school’ yet with one of the biggest pieces of my heart missing,” she said, noting Tripp’s absence from the photo.
“Tripp has decided to finish out high school in Alaska to be closer to his dad and our entire family.
The MTV star noted how much her son loves hunting and fishing and said she “couldn’t blame him” for wanting to move there.
“As hard as it has been to come to grips with his decision — it’s truly not about what I want,” she admitted.
Bristol then said at almost 16 years old, she felt it was important for Tripp to have an important relationship with his dad.
She also opened up about putting her “selfish desires” of “having him with his mama forever” aside.
“I can’t talk about it yet without crying,” she admitted, adding, “but selfishly praying for a quick year and easy transition for us all.”
Bristol has been sharing her family’s life in Texas over the years and often documents their recent trips to Alaska to visit family.
In 2022, the reality TV alum shared a photo of her and Tripp after he hunted his first moose.

The reality star debuted a new man on Instagram in December as she dealt with her messy divorce from Dakota.
Bristol and Dakota’s relationship drama played out on Teen Mom OG when Bristol stepped in for OG cast member Farrah Abraham in 2018.
Bristol uploaded a selfie next to the mystery man, dressed in a black button-up and tie, and declared that he was her wedding date.
The photo came after Bristol underwent a drastic weight loss months before.
In early January, the man shared a photo of the two spending time in Alaska together.
The two posed on a snowy hill, cuddling in warm clothing, as Bristol laid her head on his chest.
“No better way to end the year than with this girl in Alaska,” he gushed in the caption.
