Teen Mom star Ashley Jones was allegedly held at gunpoint by her estranged husband, Bar Smith. The two have had a very rocky relationship for some time now. It included infidelity and a supposed kidnapping attempt. So, when was Ashley held at gunpoint and how did it all transpire? Keep reading for all of the details.
Teen Mom Ashley Jones Held At Gunpoint By Bar Smith
Ashley Jones knew that there was trouble with Bar Smith so she talked to their young daughter, Holly. She let her know that it might end up being just the girls though she did not say why. The Teen Mom star had learned Bar was unfaithful and let the world know. More so, she understood there were some big decisions she would have to make which was hard. Then, it came out he had an arrest warrant for “failure to pay” likely having to do with child support. Bar was then arrested for kidnapping having to do with Ashley but his mother, Momma Shen, vehemently denied this happened.
Ashley has since filed for divorce from Bar and shared they have been separated since March 2024. Now, more details of a tumultuous and abusive relationship have come to the forefront. According to Starcasm, Ashley’s mother, Pastor Tea details several incidents that happened during their romance. As part of her statement, she shared times when Bar showed up at her Church and caused an immense scene:
“The last seven years has been a nightmare. I’m a retired pastor and Bariki has shown up to my church services to fight my children. He has jumped my deceased son, fought my oldest daughter & my husband. He shot up my daughter’s home as we were celebrating her medical [assistant graduation] party.”
She then shared one occasion when Bar held Ashley Jones hostage:
“I have had to go to Ashley’s house & bring her out because he had a gun holding her hostage. He keeps the family in fear with threats and violence that WE KNOW HE WILL DO! We have watched him with our own eyes pull guns on people.”
So, it is not just Ashley who has allegedly lived in fear but both of her parents, as well. They are always worried for Ashley’s safety and if she will be okay. He appears to be a loose canon with all members of the family and that has led to a request for his bail to be set higher. Bar’s bail is at $35K with him still in the Clark County Jail but now, the bond is asked to be put at $150K.
Not only has Pastor Tea had her say on Bar Smith but Ashley Jones’ father, Ted Chapple is not happy, either. He shared this about Bar’s violent ways:
“Bariki Smith has been a pain to deal with for several years, constantly harassing our daughter to the point she wants a divorce from him. And also, all the times he has put his hands on her and threaten to do bodily harm to her and us.”
Ted also confirmed Bar’s usage of guns to get his way. When Teen Mom followers learned about all of this, what was their initial reaction?
