Angel Reese Makes WNBA History After Breaking Record Of Indiana Fever Star

Angel Reese has quickly turned into one of the most talented players and rebounders in the WNBA despite being a rookie for the Chicago Sky.

The 6-foot-3 forward recently passed Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston in the WNBA’s record book, securing the second-most rebounds by a rookie in league history.

She grabbed her 336th rebound of the season against the Connecticut Sun on Friday, helping her pass Boston with ample time left in the game.

Boston previously held the record from her 2023 Rookie of the Year campaign, where she averaged 14.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.

Reese achieved the prestigious feat in the second quarter of the Sky’s game with just under 10 minutes left to play in the first half. She has plenty of time, in the match and during the season, to extend the streak and attain the No. 1 spot on the list.

Atlanta Dream center Tina Charles holds the record, hauling in 398 rebounds in 2010 when she played for the Connecticut Sun.

Angel Reese has been a tremendous player in her first year with Chicago Sky.

She’s averaged 13.6 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, leading the Sky as well as all rookies in terms of average rebounds.

The rookie has already notched the most consecutive double-double in WNBA history, securing 15 straight earlier in the season to pass league legend Candace Parker.
