Teen Mom: Jenelle Wins Sole & Legal Custody Of Daughter Ensley, David Declared UNFIT!
Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans and her estranged husband David Eason’s custody battle continues! Longtime fans know that the reality TV star is fighting hard in court to regain custody of all her children and finalize her divorce. Recently, she was back in North Carolina to appear in court for her ongoing case against ex-David. During their relationship, Jenelle and her children endured numerous hardships.
However, things took a serious turn when David admitted to killing their family dog. Now, Jenelle is seeking full legal and physical custody of her children, with the former couple currently battling over the custody of their daughter Ensley. A North Carolina judge recently made a significant ruling in this case. So, what happened? Let’s find out.
Jenelle Evans and her former partner, David Eason, are currently fighting over the custody of their daughter, Ensley, 7, following their split in February. As the custody disputes continue, Jenelle and David were scheduled for a courtroom showdown earlier this month. However, true to form, David failed to show up for the hearing.
This no-show appears to have cost him dearly, as a North Carolina judge has now stripped David of his custody rights, awarding Jenelle temporary sole and legal custody of Ensley. Notably, on the day of the court hearing, David was notably absent—busy doing cartwheels on his TikTok live with his new girlfriend, Kenleigh Heatwole.
The judge expressed concern over David’s current living situation, pointing out that he resides in the Teen Mom star’s broken-down boat. “The defendant [David] does not reside in a place that would be safe and suitable for the minor child,” the judge stated. The judge went on to praise Jenelle for her care of Ensley.
“The Plaintiff [Jenelle] is physically, mentally and emotionally able to provide consistent active care for the child,” the statement read. The temporary custody granted Jenelle authority to decide for Ensley, including whether she’ll appear on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. Previously, only Jenelle’s sons were allowed to film for the show, as David refused to consent to Ensley’s participation.
She revealed that David had withheld consent as leverage to get his belongings back. “He wants his property that’s left back at the house, and then he’ll talk about it. Like his dirt bike,” Jenelle said during the court hearing. Overall, it appears the judge has ruled Jenelle a fit parent. Fans may now expect to see more of Ensley on the MTV show.
