Kate Middleton and Prince William’s secret plans to completely change way they live

Kate and William

Prince William and Princess Kate moved to Windsor around two years ago to a home that is – at least by the Royal Family’s standards – pretty modest. However, they have been quietly considering ways to elevate their home life and upgrade their lifestyle as a family of five, sources have claimed.

Adelaide Cottage is located on the Windsor Home Park estate and is a four-bedroom property that is a fraction of the size of the Wales family’s former full-time – a palatial apartment in Kensington Palace. However, it was reported at the time of their move that Kate and William were keen on being able to assure more privacy than their London home afforded them for their three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis – as well as being keen to be closer to the late Queen Elizabeth.

The four-bedroom property doesn’t have enough room for live-in staff, so the Wales family has been able to enjoy a lot of privacy and quality time together since their big move to Windsor, something they will have likely have needed during what has been a challenging year for them. In March, Kate announced in an emotional video message straight to the nation that after major abdominal surgery, post-operative tests had revealed that “cancer had been present” and that she was advised to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, which she had recently begun.
She also explained that she would be absent from public life for the time being, as she focusses on her recovery, and appealed for privacy for her family as they faced the health challenge together. Sources have claimed – the Express reports – that in light of Kate’s health challenges, the couple have been quietly planning ways that they could elevate their home, and improve their lifestyle.

“Nobody knows that there is quite a spacious red-brick annex building that’s not being used next door to Adelaide Cottage. It’s currently inhabitable and needs extensive renovation works if it were to be used. Discussions have been ongoing for a while about using the property as part of the overall cottage grounds, but it’s just about finding the right time to kick the project off,” the insider claimed.

The source added, “William is very conscious of the public scrutiny over the Royal Family’s spending habits, so he is looking at the best way to cover any renovation costs. It’s a project that’s very much been put on the back burner for now due to the family’s unfortunate position, but it will be looked at again when the time is right.” The family is really happy in their Windsor home, which the report claimed they “adore”, and they also make regular use of their Norfolk home – Anmer Hall, near King Charles’s Sandringham estate – during the school holidays.
