It’s been a year since Teen Mom fans heard that Nathan Griffith’s sister called the cops, claiming he’d tried to kill her by strangulation. This week, the news emerged that Jenelle Evans’ ex has been sentenced after he broke his Veterans Court probation.

Nathan Griffith Has A History Of Arrests

Alcohol seems to be a problem in the life of the former MTV star. Weeks before the assault on his sister, he was picked up for DUI. That is something that happened before, and he’s been in and out of rehab for it. However, the Teen Mom alum doesn’t seem to stick to his probation rules much.

Nathan Griffith returned to his wife, May Oyola after his arrest. Actually, his sister claimed a terrifying experience with strangulation, but he’d been accused of that form of assault in the past. Teen Mom fans often complain that the judges seem too lenient with him. Was the judge lenient this time?

The Teen Mom Alum’s Sentence

MTV fans heard via The Ashley’s Reality Roundup that Jenelle’s ex was in jail because he’d pleaded guilty in his sister’s case last year. At the time, part of his probation included attending “a Veteran’s Court program.” However, he failed to obey the rules. So, his resentencing happened and it seemed that he’s been given more chances.

Nathan Griffith, the outlet noted from court papers, got sentenced to:

… a minimum of 12 months (with a max of 48 months) in prison. However, the former MTV star had his sentence suspended. Nathan was again ordered to go back on probation for ‘an indeterminate period not to exceed 24 months.”

What does all of that entail? Well, it was quite a lengthy court document and means that the MTV alum will return to rehab as a resident. If he doesn’t obey the rules, he could end up jailed for up to 48 months.

Lots Of Rules

More information noted that the Teen Mom personality must “enter a Veteran’s intensive outpatient treatment program.” Along with that are plenty of rules about access to weapons, other criminals, alcohol, travel, and his place of residence.

Jenelle Evans‘ ex will be monitored electronically and check in with his probation officer regularly. Behind bars might sound like the best place for him, but he still has an opportunity to turn his life around.

What are your thoughts on Nathan Griffith’s sentence? Do you think it;’s too light? Should a judge finally get him off the streets and into jail for his own good? Or, will he stick to the conditions of his probation? Sound off in the comments below, and come back here often for all your Teen Mom news.
