Teen Mom: Catelynn & Tyler’s Unpaid Taxes Could Lead To Homelessness!

Teen Mom stars Catelynn Lowell and her husband Tyler Baltierra first appeared in MTV’s 16 and Pregnant. At only 17, the couple was pregnant with their first child, Carly, whom they gave up for adoption. They later welcomed three more daughters, Novalee, Vaeda, and Rya. Despite having an estimated net worth of around $6 million, the pair is currently struggling with financial issues.

According to a recent report, Catelynn and Tyler are in hot water over their $450,000 home in Michigan. The pair have been trying to sell their historic house for the past year with no success. It seems they are in deeper trouble than one can imagine, as Catelynn and Tyler now face the risk of foreclosure on their property. So, what happened? Let’s find out.

Catelynn Lowell & Tyler Baltierra are no strangers to financial issues, particularly with taxes. Previously, the Teen Mom pair faced two separate tax liens totaling $535,010.97 and $321,789.06 each. Notably, they successfully paid the due off. Despite their past tax-related issues, it seems they are once again in financial trouble. Catelynn and Tyler currently owe over $5k in taxes for their $450,000 Michigan home.

They listed the historic home, built by Great Lakes Sea Captain George W. Smith in September 2023. However, despite being on the market for nearly a year, the property has not sold. TheSun recently revealed that the Michigan Register of Deeds Office filed a Certificate of Forfeiture of Real Property on March 1, 2024. Now, Catelynn and Tyler’s property is “forfeited to the Sanilac County Treasurer” for failing to pay property taxes for 2022.

Now, the Teen Mom couple must pay $5,007.72 owed to Sanilac County, Michigan, for the 2022 fiscal year, or they could permanently lose their home. Catelynn and Tyler could face foreclosure for their home if the couple fails to pay their tax dues by March 31, 2025. Notably, their Michigan home is 2,626 square feet, featuring three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It was originally listed at $454,000 but has since been reduced to $449,900.

Teen Mom stars are prone to fan scrutiny over their parenting decisions. In July, Catelynn posted a clip of her youngest daughter, Rya, enjoying a boat ride in a three-piece floating set. What should have been a fun family moment quickly drew criticism from Teen Mom fans concerned about Rya’s safety. Fans flooded the comments section, with many pointing out that Rya should be wearing a proper life jacket.

One top comment read, “She should be wearing a proper life jacket,” while another noted, “That’s not a life vest..” A third comment asked, “She is bouncing around a lot, do boats have seat belts ?” One commenter summed it up, saying that “Spreading awareness about proper safety precautions is not being a Karen,” adding that Rya should be “in a life vest while on a moving boat.” Keep coming back to TV Season & Spoilers for the latest Teen Mom tea.
