Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese become team-mates! Rookie rivals named on WNBA All-Star roster... and will face off against the Olympics team they missed out on | Daily Mail Online

The Caitlin Clark vs. Angel Reese race for WNBA Rookie of the Year is heating up as both players put up historic seasons. So far, however, the Indiana Fever sharpshooter is still ahead in the battle against the Chicago Sky forward.

According to the latest WNBA Rookie of the Year odds on FanDuel (via Bleacher Report), Clark remains the favorite to win at -600. Reese’s odds to win have improved, but she’s still far behind Clark at +360.

Veteran sports columnist Bob Kravitz put the race into better perspective, highlighting how Clark is leading in several categories while Reese has only been really dominant on rebounds.

“I see that Caitlin Clark is No. 1 in every rookie statistic except rebounding (that’s Angel Reese) and I don’t understand the recent conversation about how it’s a close race for ROY. Closer than expected, yes. But the odds remain in Clark’s favor and for good reason,” Kravitz wrote.

Caitlin Clark currently leads all WNBA rookies in points (16.1), assists (7.4) and minutes played (34.6). She’s also second in steals (1.4) and fourth in both rebounds (6.0) and blocks (0.8). Meanwhile, Angel Reese leads in rebounds (11.9) and steals (1.5), while also being second in points (14.1) and eighth in blocks (0.4).

Reese has gotten a lot of attention recently due to her record 13 straight double-doubles. Clark, however, set a record of her own after becoming the first rookie to record a triple-double.

It’s definitely an intriguing Rookie of the Year battle between Clark and Reese. But considering that the Fever All-Star has the better overall numbers, it’s not a surprise why she’s in the lead.

Sure enough, with plenty of games left this 2024 season and considering the way Reese is playing, Clark cannot be too confident that she has the award in the bag.
